An electron current is established when there is a potential difference between one point and another. Esto puede ocurrir de distintos modos:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Liquid metal attack. <\/strong>It occurs when a solid metal and another liquid metal come into contact, and the first is corroded at its weak points by the second.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lixiviaci\u00f3n selectiva. <\/strong>Se da cuando hay una corrosi\u00f3n selectiva en <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/aleacion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aleaciones<\/a> met\u00e1licas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ataque qu\u00edmico.<\/strong> Se da con reacciones qu\u00edmicas agresivas por <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/soluto-y-solvente\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">solventes<\/a> poderosos, como los que son capaces de disolver <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/polimeros\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pol\u00edmeros<\/a>, generalmente considerados resistentes a la corrosi\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Corrosi\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica. <\/strong>Ocurre generalmente en los metales, cuando sus <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/atomo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e1tomos<\/a> pierden <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/electron\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electrones<\/a> y se convierten en <a href=\"https:\/\/concepto.de\/ion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iones<\/a>.
