Different products need different amounts of absorbent. We need to consider the packaging size of your product.

Strictly speaking, in addition to considering the packaging size of your products, we must also consider the characteristics of the packaging materials, the time of your cargo devoted to transportation and storage, in addition, we must also take into account the ambient temperature and humidity, as well as packaging materials such as cardboard, polyethylene, paper and other humidity data.

To determine the amount of desiccant, it is important to consider the following factors:

  • This is due to the following factors:
  • the nature of the material to be protected
  • moisture around the package
  • the type of desiccant used
  • the duration in time for protection
  • Atmospheric conditions (temperature and relative humidity) when and where the product is sealed and during subsequent shipping and storage

Benefits:

By including theAl incluir las bolsitas de sílice Inside boxes and packaging you can easily reduce humidity and thus avoid losses and damages due to:

✓ Oxidation and corrosion
✓ Mold
✓ Fogging
✓ Condensation
✓ Bad odors
✓ Caking in flours and powders

✓ Non-toxic, non-flammable, non-reactive.
✓ Respect the environment.
✓ Great absorption capacity.

How much is a desiccant unit?

In desiccant terminology, a unit is the quantity of desiccant required to meet the U.S. military specification (MIL-D-3464E) for packaged desiccants. Under this specification, a unit is the quantity in which 3 grams of water vapor at 20% relative humidity or 6 grams of water vapor at 40% relative humidity are absorbed at 77°F (25°C).

It may be helpful to equate one unit to approximately one ounce of material. More specifically, a one-unit bag of Bentonit acargo (clay) contains about 33 grams, a one-unit bag of Gel Silica Dabesa® (silicon gel) contains 26 grams.

What sizes of bags, envelopes or cartridges are available?

Standard envelope sizes are ½, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 grams. They can also be ordered in different sizes, although such orders require a larger quantity as a minimum order.

Standard cartridge sizes are ½, 1, 2 and 3 grams.

Custom sizes are available to meet your packaging needs, although such sizes typically have a significant minimum quantity.
